I finished this quilt just in the nick of time. Finished it on the Friday to take to the Car Club craft night on the Saturday night and he was born that night!

I didn’t get to do the traditional clothesline shot as I had to quickly wrap it up to take it to the hospital with us on the Sunday!

But I have started a new tradition --- quilts with feet !  – see photo, ha, ha…. and how did that Alfie dog sneak into the shot!

And, here are some close ups of the eye spy blocks.

I Spy Quilt - Progress Report

21 blocks yet to go!!

I am really pleased with this quilt - I love the orange red shades of the stars and the scrappy cream background.

I had a small problem with the spot fabric ... Its pattern seems to be printed on a wonky bias all of its own because there was no way I could centre the dots in my perfectly square template! Oh well, it doesn't really matter and will add character...

What can you spy?

My Quilt World - I Spy Quilt

I spy with my little eye,
something beginning with Q.

This wasn't a project I was planning this year, but Graham and I have had the news that a baby niece or nephew is on the way. And, you just know that I need any excuse to design something new. But wow, this is a fun one to do!

I have chosen a green polka dot fabric.

I have purchased packets of fabric squares on ebay, all different fabrics  and added more scraps from my stash to make the 138 I spy blocks in this quilt.

Starting on the smaller blocks

There are blocks with dogs and cats, kangaroos and koalas, fruits and veggies and even really weird stuff like green onion dip and bears playing golf.

I want one for me!!!

Its coming together really quickly so I will update you soon!

Until next time .... Kim
