Norfolk - Saturday 26th April - Classic Team Lotus

The reason we came to Norfolk was to revisit Classic Team Lotus. We were here in 2011, when it was displayed in a little shed. We had a private tour with a lady called Sapphire and a rummage through the merchandise boxes in the storeroom!

Now they have moved to a new building next door to the old one (which is now a pile of rubble), they give guided tours and have a proper shop.

Here below is Graham in 2011, his hair is a lot whiter now!

They now have an upstairs museum as well as the workshop.

Below is Graham helping park this car.

I know some of these cars are special and driven by famous drivers

but don't expect me to remember all of it!

Found a friend!

A cousin of our Elan.

Lotus in Glen Innes

Hello My Dear Readers
Firstly my apologies for the long  gap between posts, I’ve been a bit busy over the past few months. I will now bombard you with a series of posts over the next few weeks.
Back at the end of June we spent a lovely weekend with the Queensland Lotus Club.

(I've done a bit of photo shopping of the number plates to protect peoples privacy).

It’s the 60th Anniversary year of the Lotus Elan,
so the Queensland club had their yearly “Grand Tour’  run in celebration.

We drove up from home to meet with them
for a weekend in Glen Innes and to show off our very old Lotus Elan.

Stories from the Grand Tour – Lotus Club Queensland

On the Saturday we had a long lunch at Waterloo Station.

Some of the members were staying at the station overnight,

but we returned to Glen Innes by coach with the others to stay overnight.

Dinner was at the Pub in front of the roaring fire.

On Sunday – it was back to Waterloo station for a photo-shoot, then a delicious breakfast.

Our car met a cousin! The 2 oldest cars on the run.

We met some really nice people, some really rich people and some very expensive cars.

Everyone was really nice, very welcoming, loved our car and we had a great time.

Shannons Motor Show Tamworth 2018

Hi Dear Readers.
Graham and I recently spent the weekend in Tamworth so that The Baby could spend the weekend in the Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre. You know where they hold the Country music awards.

So this took a bit of organizing as we had to take two cars. The Lotus of course, and the Mondeo so we had transport while the car was on display.

As usual The Baby got lots of attention. It gets lots and lots of photos taken of it.
Its possibly had more photos taken of it than Graham and I (combined) have had taken of ourselves in our entire lives.

A big variety of vehicles on display

and here are just some of them below

Some people went to lots of trouble  with their displays.

The car below is set up like its at a drive-in theatre.

We went to the official dinner on the Saturday night and sat at a table with the panel van club.

Above is one of our club members car. This is 'Reggie" that belongs to Cheryl.
There were about half a dozen car from our club.

This car won the best in show.

It was so shiny it was difficult to photograph.

We didn't enter the Lotus in any of the judging.

Oh – you have to love people yelling and screaming in delight when they see you!

I love the Autumn festival – you smile so much your mouth hurts and you spend hours talking to locals about your cars.

Plus I wandered off and bought a rusty corrugated iron piggy which is now near the front door. –

ALSO – above photo, Grahams holding his coffee, can you spot where I’ve rested mine while I take the photo, ha ..ha..???

So this year we presented both cars at the Autumn festival.

‘Mrs C’, went on parade, and the older ‘Baby’ went into the park where she attracted a flock of admirers.

Its funny how an old car like that attracts all the teens and the 20 something's, who are amazed at how little she weighs and how olds she is ---- She is a cougar!.. She's a Lotus…
