Doggies are back to the kennels and we are off on our journey to South Africa.

We flew to Sydney, caught the train to Circular Quay and are staying at a very classy place at the Rocks.

The Run Home

Day Seven

Day 7

Last day and we visit the Jam factory and candle shop before heading back south.

Lyn and Mick have again done a great job of organising this run, although they say they really love putting this run together every year.

IMG_4591IMG_4592

We now have a collection of Chilli relish to take home.

Day 7 shops

On our way home we stopped at Deepwater for lunch as it is their scarecrow festival – although the flies out numbered the scarecrows…

IMG_4596

and then on to home – with one last stop for the moody Jaguar.

IMG_4598

The Cortina has run beautifully and its great now its got a sound system and we can have some music!

Finally home and back to normal – The doggies don’t realise that its only for a few days…

Moving south to Stanthorpe

Day six

Day 6

Today we travelled by the back roads from Warwick to the Stanthorpe area.

IMG_4562

First stop was morning tea at Vincenzo's. Due to the storms last night we have had to cancel  the shed visit this morning…………

IMG_4565

IMG_4564

Then a stop at Castle Glen winery, who’s specialty is brightly coloured liqueurs in very pretty bottles.

IMG_4567

Then to the brewery.

Day 6 Beer

Robyn's looking a bit cranky in the below photo – it can’t be Gary’s fault, as unusually he seems to have his mouth shut in this photo. (he he he… )

IMG_4571

Uh oh. I was wrong Gary’s in the dog house.

IMG_4569

IMG_4572

And after lunch it was time to muck around on the model trains!

IMG_4574

We visited a beautiful house and garden on the shore of Lake Storm King.

The whole property has been taken over by a train obsession.

IMG_4582

Bonnie the dog just hops on and off as she wishes.

IMG_4588

We’re all just big kids really…Even Bob gave up the wheelie walker and had a ride (with O2 still attached)!

IMG_4590

The last night dinner was at Anna’s restaurant which was only a short walk from the motel.

An amazing buffet – yum-ba.. ! The dessert Cannelloni with Italian custard was yummeee.

Day 5

First stop for the day was Queen Mary’s Falls – which following the downpour last night are roaring.

IMG_4517

IMG_4520

IMG_4519

Then morning tea amongst the birds.

Rosellas and a disappointed (no meat) but very tame Kookaburra.

IMG_4523

IMG_4525

IMG_4522IMG_4528

Jolly cheeky! and lots of birds on peoples heads etc.

The red headed are the male King Parrots while the female are all green.

IMG_4530

IMG_4536

My tops so bright the birds just blend in.

IMG_4542

Next stop was Lake Leslie for lunch

IMG_4549IMG_4550

Then an afternoon at the Rodeo.

Day 5 rodeo

After school most kids would go to rugby or cricket training, but not in Warwick they go to rodeo practice, with their RM Williams jeans and big hats.

IMG_4553

They were breaking in some new steers which were being a bit naughty and a couple of the boys got a bit bruised and battered.

It was coming down in buckets outside.

Day 5 W

and its pouring again tonight.
