Our last morning in Munich. we took another look at Marienplatz and the Glockenspiel without the hordes of alcohol infused Christmas revellers.
It must be total madness here during Oktoberfest.
Which is when Graham was last here, in 1993, on his 33rd birthday for Oktoberfest. In his beer filled bachelor days.
Isn’t he lucky that he has me to look after now! ?
Wandering about we were entrapped by another one of those enchanted Christmas markets.
This one was at the food market, so had flowers and food.
And just when we had made a clean escape from one market, the forces pulled us into the Stollen Market.
(Stollen is a Christmas fruit bread)
There were about a dozen stollen makers all with samples of their wares, so about a hundred stollens to taste test… No photos as it was PACKED with all the locals who knew that this was THE PLACE to get the best stollen.
Yes, we bought one (with macadamias no less), we couldn’t break the spell and escape any other way!
On the train and heading to Nuremburg for the next two nights.
