Wednesday 28th December - Auckland

This will be a short post today because on our first day in Auckland we didn't really do very much.

We were in Auckland in 2014 and visited most of the art galleries and museums then. So we were at a bit of a loss as to what to do with ourselves.

We watched the crews do a lifeboat drill and to make sure the Tenders were fit for the Bay of Islands.

We took a rest stop in the cool of Auckland's St Patrick's Cathedral.

Lunch in a pub. The Shakespeare Hotel below picture is from their website

Then back to the ship for a little rest.

They are putting in new railways so some of the streets are closed or dug up.

No export pine on this dock, but imports.
Cars, thousands of them and mostly Toyota's.

And Graham's covid test was negative but positive to para-influenza.

He's started to eat a little bit better today.
