Day One
Travel month continues and its entrée time.
Its time for this years Long Run, which always has a secret destination.
So today we were given instructions that we are off to Toowoomba.
We are taking the 1973 Cortina, Mrs C, for this trip.
Above was morning tea at Ben Lomond.
And we had a stop in Deepwater to visit the craft and antique shop.. (and Graham got attacked by the car when the door closed on his head so he’s got a mild black eye now).
No Daylight saving in Qld so our times are all out of whack. And we are taking all our classics into an area where they have had massive hail storms over the past week, so this should be interesting….
Lunch was at Girraween national park which is just north of Wallangarra.
Then a quick stop at this pyramid – which some bloke had built as a tourist drawcard but then his business went bust!
Then the adventure of battling the Queensland drivers – overtaking on double lines and other such stupidity, as we made our way into Toowoomba.
We are staying at the Jefferies Motel for the next three nights while we explore the area. It will be great not have to pack up the car every day.
