Arrived in Melbourne to a forecast of a hot and windy day.
Above photo is the Westgate Bridge from our balcony.
We purchased new Myki cards and took a tram into the city.
Although its hot at least its a dry heat. It is about 38 degrees and it was hotter at the port for our walk back to the ship from the tram stop.
We visited the Myer Christmas windows. Can you spot the giraffe that has its head through the glass?
It wasn't very Cristmassy, the theme was 'Australia Zoo' staring Bindi and Robert Irwin.
I wonder if they would be as successful if their father was still alive or if his big personality would eclipse them? Although young Robert seems to have inherited his fathers gift of the gab!
After a bit of shopping in the arcades we had lunch in the downstairs Charles Dickens Tavern which was blissfully air-conditioned. Graham had a memorable Ploughmans lunch.
Then back on board early to escape the heat. Its going to be 24 degrees and raining here tomorrow.
We have a sea day tomorrow before we reach Kangaroo Island.
