.My Mother-in-law, Violet, passed away suddenly at the end of August.
She was born in London, and as a child evacuated to the English countryside during the Blitz in WWII. (long story there as well).
So, now for a quick post to share some photos from our weekend at Copeton Dam back in August.

The Dam was nearly at full capacity,
and I've just checked again and its at 98% today following all the rain.
Stories from the Grand Tour – Lotus Club Queensland
On the Saturday we had a long lunch at Waterloo Station.
Some of the members were staying at the station overnight,
but we returned to Glen Innes by coach with the others to stay overnight.
Dinner was at the Pub in front of the roaring fire.
On Sunday – it was back to Waterloo station for a photo-shoot, then a delicious breakfast.
Our car met a cousin! The 2 oldest cars on the run.
We met some really nice people, some really rich people and some very expensive cars.
Everyone was really nice, very welcoming, loved our car and we had a great time.
We stayed at the Wentworth Hotel.

We shared a lift with the Prime Minister of New Zealand and all her hefty bodyguards.
I was struck dumb, so never got to ask her if she enjoyed Vivid!
(I also bought a new phone!)
We had been gifted a tour and have had it for years but due to covid we haven't been able to use it.
UNTIL NOW!
Above is a tribute to the late Shane Warne, who died suddenly earlier this year.
Lots of famous baggy greens, and Steve Waugh's famous red rag.
Only time we'll get in the members bar....
And of course, Richie Benaud lives on....

So it was a chance to look at the buildings history and architecture.
It will be 50 years old in 2023.
We met up with Michael and Gail for lunch on the Saturday and had dessert at the Guylian Belgian Chocolate Cafe at Circular Quay.
This is an Orange and Chocolate Dome, YUMMY!

And we finally got home at 9PM on the Sunday to a freezing cold house and the doggies having to spend an extra night at the kennels.
